AAMGA Event Hosted by XL Excess & Surplus Lines
XL Excess & Surplus Lines, supporting the AAMGA University West in Scottsdale, AZ, hosted approximately 20 brokers for dinner.
Current AAMGA President Curtis Anderson (RPS-Scottsdale, AZ) spoke about the importance of education. Fred Steves (Myron F. Steves & Co. Houston, TX), a former AAMGA President was in attendance with those of his employees participating in AAMGA University West.
John DiBiasi, President of XL Excess & Surplus Lines, in his welcome noted that Curtis and Fred have both continued their family traditions of leadership in the Excess & Surplus lines industry. Curtiss dad, Skip Anderson, was President of the Texas Surplus Lines Association (TSLA) 1970-1971 and ironically Freds dad, Myron Steves, immediately followed Skip as TSLA President 1971-1972. Fred himself was TSLA President 1980-1981. Lastly, Skip Anderson was President of NAPSLO 1987-1988. John explained, "The Excess & Surplus lines business is fortunate to have Curtis, Fred, each of their dads, and many other people willing to give of their personal time towards improving the Excess & Surplus lines industry."
Overall there were representatives from 11 broker firms who do business with XL Excess & Surplus Lines. Several people were in attendance who serve in various roles with AAMGA, NAPLSO, or TSLA.
